Dr. Iraklis Titopoulos comes from Thessaloniki, Greece. He is a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He gained the diploma of Pulmonology from the Pulmonology Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUT). He remained as a research fellow at the Pulmonology Clinic of the AUT for a 5 years period. During this period, he was responsible for the training of the students and residents. In 1992, he obtained a PhD from the Medical School of the AUT.

He was trained in Interventional Pulmonology at the:

“Saint Marguerite” General Hospital, Marseille, France ((rigid bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy) next to prof. Dumon and prof. BoutIn, respectively.
“Spedali Civili”, General Hospital, Brescia, Italy ((rigid bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy) next to prof. S. Cavalieri and G. Tassi, respectively.

He established and managed “Pneumon” the first private medical center for pulmonary diseases in Thessaloniki. He practiced as director of Pulmonology Department of “Saint Loukas” General Clinic in Thessaloniki, Greece.

In 2000 he was invited from G. Apostolopoulos, President Athens Medical Group , in order to establish and have the management of the Pulmonology Clinic of the European Interbalkan Medical Center in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Pulmonology Clinic that he established and continues to direct provides all patients with innovative diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Those include, transthoracic ultrasound, flexible bronchoscopy, slim scope, rigid bronchoscopy, stent placement, APC, EBUS-TBNA, Cryo techniques, TBLC, CBCT guided bronchoscopy, virtual navigation bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy, peripheral bronchoscopy, ELVR, as well as Sleep Apnea Lab and Respiratory function tests Lab.

He has published numerous scientific papers in foreign and Greek medical journals. He participates in many international and local scientific conferences. Hosted by frequently in various radio and television broadcasts on topics related to his specialty. He is an active member of many scientific societies in Greece and abroad.

President of the Hellenic Chest Diseases Society (HCDS) (2019-2025).
